AFG – Avoiding Fruits and Goodies

I was playing around with my initials the other day, seeing what kind of acronyms I could come up with and this was one of them.  I liked it because these two food groups get put into the same category of sugars when they are not anything alike.

As Joan Rivers used to say “Can we Talk?”  Let’s get serious here for a few moments.  Are the sugars in fruits the same as the sugars in cakes, cookies, brownies, candy and chocolate?  Or alcoholic beverages for that matter?  No.  So why do we support/promote/encourage  consuming sugar free desserts/beverages over consuming fruit?  Seriously, fruit comes from the earth, it is natural.  Each fruit has its own set of vitamins and minerals exclusive to itself to keep the body functioning naturally..Has anyone that you know of that eats unprocessed, unrefined foods ever received a dental check up or physical that has been anything less than healthy?  Or even someone who has been  diagnosed with high blood pressure/cholesterol/triglycerides, diabetes, arthritis, gout, skin conditions, that switches over to unrefined/unprocessed foods, consuming foods grown from the earth, clean water, eats out  once a month (including buying food all ready made and bringing it home), to find out within to  months their bloodwork/health has taken a serious turn towards better health?

Why is this?  Because we are eating what our creator intended us to be eating vs creating food for us to eat.  I know it is really cool that we have found a way to make lemon flavored vodka without using a drop of lemon juice.  And that we can make hazelnut syrup to flavor our coffee.  But what is all this flavoring, processing, refining to make our food last longing on the shelf doing to our bodies?  You really don;t even need to go back 50 years to see the increase in diseases in our society.  Just go back 10 or 15 and see the increase in diabetes, obesity and digestive issues.

Is the convenience of having coffee, french fries, pizza,  pastries, hot dogs, on the go foods, really worth the health issues we are experiencing?  Is it really necessary to have created sugar free everything instead of being able to eat 3 pieces of fruit a day to cure our sugar cravings?

Our bodies are starving for essential nutrients to live naturally vs normally or necessary.  These symptoms of cravings, and chronic inflammation and chronic dis -eases are all our body’s way of telling us we need the fruit not the goodies. When I worked in health food stores, i used to get reports from parents all the time of compliments from their dentists and dr.’s who said their health was  good and their teeth from eating naturally as compared to those who consume the Standard American Diet.

Where do you want your health to end  up?  How motivated are you to clean up your eating habits?  It starts with one decision.  Then it just keeps getting better after that.  When you have your motivation to change, I can guarantee you that one.
